Role: Senior Research Analyst, TMT

The Team: 451 Research IoT team covers the IT and OT infrastructure enabling IoT and their adoption/impact on vertical industry sectors including manufacturing, transportation, public sector, healthcare, energy, etc. Analysts on the team brief extensively with vendors and enterprises deploying IoT; publish short and long-term reports; contribute to survey and forecast data products; and deliver client advisory projects.

The Impact: 451 Research's IoT team and the position of Senior Analyst, TMT, Automotive/Mobility provide insights for clients on the development of advanced mobility and in particular autonomous vehicles and related services and infrastructure. Those developments sit at the center of the future of multiple industries and the IT and OT technologies infrastructure opportunities in support of those developments are of keen interest to 451 Research clients and prospects.

  • Cover a dynamic global industry spanning automotive OEMs, key suppliers, and other stakeholders including government, policy, and financial sector leaders.
  • Be viewed as an expert in the critical intersection of advanced mobility and enabling technologies including enterprise IoT, AI/ML analytics, and data center/cloud/edge infrastructure.
  • Complement, leverage, and partner with S&P Global's Mobility team, which delivers industry-best insights and data on auto shipments and trends, including forward-looking views on key topics such as autonomy, assisted driving, EV charging, etc.
  • Be part of a dynamic and growing team of technology analysts serving 451 Research IT/OT sector clients while having your insights and content exposed to the broader financial community served by S&P Global.
Responsibilities:
  • Brief with vendors serving the advanced mobility market and write up short-form, SWOT-based research reports analyzing their offerings and positioning competitively within the sector.
  • Produce long-form reports with a focus on thought leadership, sector analysis and presentation of unique industry data.
  • Contribute to the development of quantitative deliverables, including enterprise surveys and data monitors and forecasts.
  • Interact with clients via quick-hit advisory calls and longer-term custom advisory projects that deliver strong client engagement and incremental revenue to 451.
  • Become a recognized thought leader internally (alongside S&P's Mobility team) and externally, in particular re: the intersection of advanced mobility and IT/tech.
What We're Looking For:
  • Strong experience analyzing the intersection of technology and digital transformation. Ideal candidate will have experience in an analyst role, either with a research firm or within an enterprise, preferably in the automotive and/or advanced mobility sector.
  • Strong writing skills and experience delivering insightful short- and long-form reports.
  • Competency in data analysis, in particular the use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to deliver client insights. Experience in more advanced analytics (Tableau, Python, R) considered a plus.
  • Strong client-service skills, delivering insights and responding to customer inquiries.
  • A self-starter capable of operating both independently and as part of the IoT team and larger 451 and S&P Global groups. Candidate should define and own the key issues in the coverage area, be engaged with key vendors and other stakeholders, and proactively position their coverage within the larger 451 and S&P research universe.
  • Occasional travel required, typically once or twice per month, in support of client work and industry events.

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $80.9k - $150K. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
