Mellon Direct Indexing - Senior Portfolio Manager/ Strategist /Product Manager
  • We're looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented individual with 7-10 years of applicable investment experience and a strong work ethic who can collaborate effectively across a large organization. Our ideal candidate is a problem-solver, willing to dig in to help build and innovate.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential.
  • Responsible for overseeing and managing the daily portfolio management functions for direct index portfolios that will incorporate quantitative risk models and optimization programs to manage tax-sensitive equity accounts and client-directed restrictions at scale
  • Work closely with engineering technologists and overall support team to build, scale and manage risk for the portfolio management process
  • Analyze equity taxable transitions for optimal tax efficient results
  • Work closely with Advisors and internal client-facing teams to support client needs and assist in asset gathering efforts
  • Contribute to forward-looking product and capabilities development
  • Collaborative attitude and hands on approach a plus
  • Previous experience managing direct index or index SMA portfolios
  • Python experience would be an asset
  • Aladdin platform a plus

Responsibilities:
  • Manages a significant amount of assets independently within investment policy guidelines.
  • Implements investment strategies consistent with client financial goals and risk tolerance and in accordance with the investment policies/philosophies and procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Works alongside and oversees other members of the portfolio team
  • Will meet with clients and new business prospects to communicate investment strategy, discuss market performance and current market conditions as needed
  • Overseeing strategy by participating in investment committee meetings, preparing commentary and raising issues for further research.
  • Evaluate the performance of investments and makes timely changes to a portfolio to meet investment objectives or allocation guidelines.
  • Gather key stakeholder input and leverage data and information to help the business track key performance indicators and make business decisions.
  • Build and collaborate on necessary process developments and improvements to enable executive leadership to make informed decisions on changes that impact the portfolio.
  • Develop and share policies and strategies to improve the business performance.
  • Contributes to team/firm profitability by assuring retention and expansion of existing client relationships by contributing to superior investment performance and client services.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Advanced/graduate degree preferred.
  • 7-10 years of total work experience preferred and 7 years or more of directly applicable investment experience preferred for MBAs or CFAs.
  • Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business.
  • Previous experience managing direct index or index SMA portfolios a requirement

**This role offers a hybrid working environment - 2 days in the office and 3 days remote working along with the ability to work remotely from anywhere in the world for up to 2 weeks.**
