This is a terrific opportunity for an experienced product marketer for a new role that will lead product communications within the Marketing team. The Strategic Product Marketer will be the subject matter expert within Marketing for the firm's emerging market equity and fixed income products. Partnering closely with colleagues from the investment team, portfolio strategy, sales and marketing teams, the professional will develop strategic marketing communications that clearly articulate the firm's value proposition and positioning of our products.

In this role, you will work closely with the Marketing team to ensure product marketing strategy is aligned with distribution and marketing goals, the professional will be responsible for leading the development of key strategic communications that will support product campaigns, new product launches and strengthening product positions. This includes developing pitchbooks, sales brochures, product sales aids, website content and emails. You will take an active role in the team's data and analytics initiatives and create marketing communication programs that contribute to identifying new client insights, raising engagement, and developing new leads for the sales team. And you will have the opportunity to directly influence product advertising as well as our social media strategy.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Raise awareness and drive consideration of Matthews Asia's equity and fixed income products in key markets and client segments through development of compelling product content
  • Be the subject matter expert within the Marketing team for the firm's emerging market equity and fixed income products
  • Develop compelling product communications that reinforce our value proposition and key differentiating characteristics of our products across multiple mediums - PowerPoint, brochure, sales tools, website, video, social media, email
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Marketing team to create marketing materials, email communications, website content and social media for product campaigns
  • Contribute to product campaigns, taking the lead in development of key messaging and product communications
  • Play an active role in new product launches across our mutual fund and ETF platforms, including developing the key messaging for pitchbooks, brochures and sales aids
  • Create other product communications that support client journeys, tactical competitor positioning and persona-based marketing tactics
  • Collaborate with Brand Communications team on key Marketing initiatives
  • Partner with Marketing and Investment team colleagues on key Events and Conferences, developing messaging and contributing to presentations
  • Recruit and develop talent within product marketing and manage external freelance writers


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BA/BS degree required. MBA, CFA desirable
  • 7+ year's relevant marketing/financial services/asset management industry experience
  • Superior writing and copyediting skills
  • Excellent communications skills


SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
  • A deep understanding of both the U.S. institutional and advisor distribution channels
  • Strong product knowledge within asset management and experience developing core product-specific messaging used consistently across content
  • Ability to form strong relationships with the investment team and represent their portfolios including its investment themes, investment approach and portfolio positioning across a wide variety of communications
  • Highly collaborative, with ability to work across functions, including Marketing, Sales and Compliance, as well as geographies such as the U.K. and Hong Kong.
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills, with an ability to generate ideas, conceptualize and develop written content that communicates a theme, story or message across multiple formats
  • A keen interest in data and analytics and how it can contribute to building effective client journeys that generate high levels of engagement and generate new leads
  • An ability to think creatively and test new approaches to communications that can drive our marketing objectives forward
  • Outstanding writing and communications skills and ability to write compelling marketing content
  • Ability to think strategically, with strong project management skills and the ability to work across marketing programs to fixed deadlines
  • Demonstrate initiative and development of new product communications that support marketing objectives.
