About this role

What team will you be on?

The Institutional Product Development team within the Global Product Group ("GPG") is currently responsible for product development across our Alternative funds, including hedge funds, CIFs and Canadian Pooled Funds enabling growth and innovation, discipline and focus across investment product lines. We partner closely with Product Strategy, Institutional Client Business, and Corporate Functions to drive opportunities through to funding and across product lifecycle events. The comparatively small size of the team offers the opportunity to assume significant responsibility as team members work closely with senior investment product professionals across all functions and assets classes and interface with other BlackRock teams.

Why is your role important?

Are you able to imagine the first step towards solving a business challenge? Can you quickly pivot to different approaches? Do you enjoy owning an existing business with your expertise? Look no further, come join our Institutional Product Development team! This role involves being the owner of a $1T+ institutional book of business comprised of over 900 funds within the US, focused specifically on our US Collective Investment Funds ("CIFs") and Canadian Pooled Funds.

What will you be doing?
  • Drive the success of BlackRock's US CIFs and Canadian Pooled Funds by leading new product development and product lifecycle events
  • Work directly with Institutional Sales and Investment Strategy teams
  • Build strong, positive relationships across internal stakeholder groups
  • Identify, evaluate, and seek solutions to potential obstacles and risks
  • Provide expertise on structuring and oversee creation of legal documents
  • Collaborate with product and business operations teams to develop a consistent operating process throughout the firm and maintain an effective control environment for launching new products
  • Acquire and maintain a thorough understanding of BlackRock's processes, operating environment and investment products and communicate unique requirements of our Funds to business partners

What are we looking for?
  • BA/BS required (MBA, JD, or CFA is a plus)
  • 10+ years of work experience
  • Familiarity with Product Development and/or commingled fund structures is preferred
  • Results-oriented self-starter focused on execution with ambitious work ethic and professional disposition
  • Passionate about problem-solving and continuous learning
  • Willing and able to learn new toolsets and approaches as business needs change
  • A standout colleague who takes a consultative approach to tasks, but is also comfortable working independently
  • Organized and precise, with the ability to prioritize effectively, multi-task quickly and efficiently, adapts to new situations in a fast-paced environment
  • Thrives in analytical and collaborative settings and can provide product oversight and solutions-oriented outcomes across BlackRock's CIF and Canada Pooled Fund platform

Our benefits

To help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of benefits including a strong retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, comprehensive healthcare, support for working parents and Flexible Time Off (FTO) so you can relax, recharge and be there for the people you care about.
