You will learn the business and culture inside and out so that you are able to provide strategic HR partnership to senior leaders and teams within Aperio (part of BlackRock) to enhance their growth and impact.

You will work on key initiatives and projects in areas such as talent development, employee relations, culture, and diversity in addition to managing annual talent processes. About This Role

We are looking for a highly organized and collaborative HRBP to support our growing Aperio Team.

At Aperio, our strategies are designed to put our clients' and their clients' interests at the center of our investment advice; to minimize costs and taxes; and to incorporate each client's unique environmental, social, and governance (ESG) preferences. We are a purposefully growing quantitative/index-tracking investment management business specializing in managing customized equity portfolios tax efficiently. At Aperio, we work hard and move quickly as a well-coordinated, collaborative team whose exceptional people are focused on providing extraordinary client service. In your role, you will deliver the same white glove service to the team. We'll trust you to:
  • Play a role in the design and execution of talent projects in support of our business strategy and operational priorities.
  • Provide advice and guidance on various topics including performance management, leadership development, compensation, succession planning, coaching, and talent reviews.
  • Work on high-impact engagement activities, with an emphasis on employee experience and DEI-related initiatives.
  • Partner with managers and recruiting to develop hiring plans that support business objectives and advance the business.
  • Support the business through organizational change and development as needed.


Your clients and colleagues will depend on you to:
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the vision, purpose and strategy of the business
  • Establish effective partnership with business leaders to influence talent decisions by providing tailored advice and leveraging expertise.
  • Drive informed decision-making by using data to identify trends; work with business leaders to determine issue root causes and develop effective solutions.
  • Understand and take a leadership role in the application of the Firm's Reward Philosophy through proactive consultation with the client and partnership with the compensation team to drive a meritocracy.
  • Partner with HR functional teams such as Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, etc. to execute on business priorities and solutions.


You need to have:
  • 7+ years of HR business partner or generalist experience, ideally in a high volume environment working closely with leaders and employees.
  • Ability to use data analytics in generating insights and presenting findings back to the business, as well as tracking and disseminating key HR data.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing and building strong and trusted relationships and networks.
  • Ability to execute firm-wide talent initiatives with excellence in a fast paced, global corporate environment; commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to articulate a variety of issues to different audiences, tailoring messages accordingly.
