Product Marketing Writer

As the Product Marketing Writer you will work closely with the Investment Communications Team and be responsible for producing and/or editing market and product commentaries as well as client specific commentaries.

This is a truly collaborative team and you will be a direct contributor to developing thought leadership that supports the firm's brand building initiatives in key markets as well as developing content such as sales brochures. This role provides great exposure to, and additional collaboration with, colleagues across the marketing, distribution and investment teams. You will develop content for websites, data visualization, infographics, social media posts and other digital formats.

The successful candidate must enjoy being an active part of a team, yet self-motivated, possess good investment knowledge and general understanding of the financial markets. You will have proven investment writing and investment product writing experience, with an ability to generate content for different channels and international markets. Ideally you have some investment management background that provided you with strong product knowledge and an ability to develop narrative and "story-telling" across different media and formats including print and, digital. Previous experience of asset management investment writing/editing is beneficial but not necessary. We are a team with diverse backgrounds and know that our collective success is due to that. Individuals with a background in journalism or with experience working in a content-focused product specialist role would also be considered.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:

• Be an integral part of the quarter-end communications process by writing and editing market commentaries, shareholder letters and separate account client letters
• Collaborate with internal subject matter experts/investment professionals to understand portfolio strategies to create content for various audiences
• Act as a writing and editing resource to the Marketing team, ensuring high quality and accurate materials are being produced by the company
• Ensure consistency in the company's voice, key messages and editorial style across markets, channels and media
• Keep up to date with developments in financial markets and maintain a deep understanding of investment communications developed by our peers
• Edit and proof external communication materials to ensure content has a clear message and consistent tone and style, while ensuring there are no compositional errors, adhere to established standards and uphold the Firm's brand
• Good understanding of the regulatory environment for product and non-product information in the U.S. and / or global markets

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in English, Business, Communications or Finance
• Three-plus years of writing experience in the financial services industry with minimum three years of experience as an investment writer, ideally covering both equity and fixed income asset classes
• Superior editing and copyediting skills
• Excellent communications skills

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

• Strong knowledge of investment products with an ability to generate into thoughtful and engaging written commentary for multiple channels and global markets
• Good knowledge of financial markets and investment/financial concepts
• Proven and exceptional writing skills to help create a wide range of communication materials for various audiences
• Demonstrate ability to capture complex ideas and write clear, concise and engaging content across different media including print, digital and video
• Ability to work at a fast pace with strong attention to detail, highly organized and strong project management skills
• Ability to prioritize work with competing business initiatives and time constraints
• Must be able to work in a team environment, both within Marketing as well as other departments, including investment, distribution and compliance teams
• Ability to maintain sound judgment and professionalism under pressure
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently when necessary
• Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to collaborate with all levels at the firm
• Creativity-able to recommend new and unique ideas
• Strong skills with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as third-party data sites such as Bloomberg, Morningstar and marketing automation tools such as Seismic
