Position Title - Portfolio Consultant

Location - San Francisco, New York, or Princeton

This role will be a key member of BlackRock's Portfolio Consulting team in BlackRock's US Wealth Advisory business. The individual will be expected to serve as a consultant on a team that provides portfolio construction guidance and consulting to the largest and fastest growing advisory groups in the country.

As a Portfolio Consultant, you will be expected to:

• Consult with top advisory teams on improving their portfolio construction process, helping them create new models, improve existing models and implement their best investment ideas. Combine quantitative portfolio analysis with qualitative insights to impactfully communicate with clients.
• Build strong relationships with sales / distribution partners. Must approach the role as a business owner and be accountable for territory rotation and maintaining a full calendar of events and meetings.
• Present BlackRock thought leadership in settings ranging from individual teams to larger meetings. Content includes portfolio construction theory, risk analysis, trends in advisor portfolios and thematic portfolio ideas.
• Introduce BlackRock tools and technology that deliver access to components of BlackRock's Aladdin® Platform and educate on how to incorporate these into an advisor's process.
• Support USWA initiatives to create an investment-centric, portfolio construction-centric and consultative selling culture, partnering with sales to socialize best practices across geographies and channels.

Qualifications/Skills

• BA/BS required. Advanced Degree / CFA / CAIA / CFP, or progress towards, is strongly preferred;
• A minimum of 7 years investment or asset management experience; additional experience preferred;
• Strong analytical skills are a must: background in statistics, econometrics or other technical disciplines desired;

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be credible as an investment professional;
• High level of self-motivation; ability to work independently with modest supervision;
• Interest and aptitude for continued learning and practically applying portfolio construction and optimization approaches required;
• Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task, prioritize and collaborate vertically/horizontally in a fast-paced environment;
• Series 7 and 63 Required
