iShares Portfolio Consulting:

The iShares Portfolio Consulting (iPC) Team is an investment team that specializes in building custom investment solutions for institutions using indexing technology. iPC consultants use deep investment expertise, innovative technology and client insights to serve institutions. Consultants serve as client-facing technical professionals that work alongside distribution teams to lead engagements that diagnose client investment challenges and shape solutions. Consultants partner closely with capital markets, product and portfolio management teams across the ETF and Index Investments (EII) business to drive value to client relationships. iPC covers institutional client segments such as: asset managers, insurance companies, pensions, endowments, foundations and family offices.

  • Proactively disseminate investment, portfolio construction and product knowledge throughout the sales and marketing teams to help influence our clients and improve investment outcomes.
  • Manage engagement pipeline with sales team and iPC partners to set the agenda and timeframe for creating and delivering client work.
  • Support key investment and technology projects, demonstrating experience and expertise in portfolio construction to craft client research for publishing.
  • Continually expand and deepen investment, portfolio construction and iShares ETF product knowledge base.
  • Be and agent for change by using your technology skills to help drive scale in the iPC business process.
  • Partner with sales and senior consultants to drive flows into BlackRock products by developing portfolio analyses and solutions; serve as product/investment specialist for client discussions.
  • Formulate, build and deliver individual client projects, maintaining responsibility for delivering client analysis to key client partners.

  • Experience in portfolio management, investment research, consulting, trading or investments.
  • BA/BS with a quantitative bias and strong analytical capability.
  • CFA and/or advanced degree desirable.
  • Formal training in econometrics, statistics or finance and extensive experience in using those skills in an applied research environment desirable.
  • Understanding of programming (R, SQL, Python, etc.) and ability to analyze large data sets preferred.
  • Knowledge of risk modeling and track record of conveying sophisticated topics simply and coherently.
  • Strong understanding of portfolio construction techniques.
  • Able to use technology to communicate financial and economic concepts.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. The successful candidate must have the confidence and credibility to persuasively influence colleagues, management, and clients.
