Portfolio Manager                

Middleton & Company is seeking an experienced, collaborative portfolio manager to add to our investment team and to manage portfolios for high net worth clients. We manage equity and balanced portfolios with an emphasis on high quality large and mid-cap stocks and investment grade bonds.

The portfolio manager will ultimately serve as the primary contact and trusted resource for these clients.  S/he will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing both new and long-standing relationships of the firm.  Depending upon experience, additional responsibility could include fundamental equity research to contribute to the investment process of our equity strategies.


  • Work with the firm’s portfolio managers and client service team to support existing client relationships and implement investment decisions in client portfolios
  • Communicate with an assigned set of clients to review and update investment objectives and constraints, establish appropriate asset allocation, recommend and implement investment strategy, and review portfolio performance
  • Generate new client relationships and identify areas of opportunity for growth
  • Actively contribute to the success of the Investment Committee, reviewing and discussing investment research, market strategy,  and portfolio positioning
  • Support operational and organizational objectives using particular skills and areas of expertise

Interested candidates should have:

  • 7+ years of experience as an investment adviser/portfolio manager
  • CFA charter or CFP certification or progress towards such designation; an advanced degree is a plus
  • Demonstrated success as a portfolio manager
  • Familiarity with various aspects of financial planning/wealth management including trusts and estates, retirement planning, and multi-generational wealth coordination
  • Experience using investment research tools such as Factset and Bloomberg
